A tradition worth keeping.
Christmas was always the big one in our house. Every year, right after Thanksgiving, my mom would gather my sister and me to decorate the tree. We did not have much money, but the holidays never felt small.
My grandmother was the reason. She went all out. My aunt built Christmas pieces she sold to buyers in the city, full standing reindeer, Santa, a sleigh, and Grandma had the whole set. Lights around the house. Angels in the yard. She never missed a year. Hers was the most beautiful yard in town, and I grew up watching people slow down to look at it.
Years later I moved to Atlanta and told a friend how much that had stuck with me. She remembered.
In October of 2021 she texted to ask if she could pass my number to a few colleagues looking for someone to do their Christmas lights. I said absolutely. The next morning I woke up to more than thirty messages with names, addresses, and photos, all asking when I could come by and quote.
I had no supplier and no pricing. What I had was a yes I had already given. So I said yes to all of them, got to work learning what I did not know, and figured it out house by house. That season became Magee Lighting.
The lights come down. The work doesn't.
That first winter taught me something I did not expect. People did not want their house to look good for six weeks a year. They wanted it to look good, and Christmas was just when they finally did something about it. So I stopped stopping in January.
I light homes for the holidays, and I light them the rest of the year too. Landscape and architectural lighting that makes a house look intentional after dark. Uplighting that gives a facade some depth. Halloween, Easter, Fourth of July, graduations, anniversaries, and whatever else you want to mark. Weddings and events, where the lighting is most of what people remember about how a room felt. And commercial work for retail centers, offices, and HOAs, where a property has to look sharp on a schedule and nobody has time to babysit it.
Different jobs, same craft. Figure out what the property wants to be, then build it.

I came into this with real experience behind me, having worked with two companies that took on holiday installs. From there I took classes and studied display design in earnest, indoor and out, because doing this well is a craft and not a weekend job.
I run the work end to end. I design for your property, my crew and I source and install everything, we service it through the season, and for seasonal displays we take it down and store it until next year. You are not climbing a ladder, untangling anything, or wondering where the boxes went.
I am on every job. Details are what separate a display that looks finished from one that looks close enough, and I am not willing to hand that part off.
I know my clients by name.
Most of my work comes from people who had me out last year, and from the neighbors who asked them who did it. That only happens one way, which is by being genuinely good to work with and precise about the details.
My favorite part of the job has not changed since 2021. It is the reaction the first time everything comes on. Every season a few of my houses take Best House in their neighborhood, and I go into each install intending to put another one on that list.

Three trees I had never attempted.
The first year nearly ran me over. Demand arrived before my team did, and I had to build a crew that could learn a design plan and execute it, fast.
One referral had three enormous trees, lit every year by another company, and she knew exactly how she wanted them. I had never worked trees that big or that round. It took a couple of days to work out how we would even approach it.
They came out perfect. That job is still the standard I hold new work to.
